Irene

I was thinking about Irene Adler, and I remembered that Waston said she died (at the time he is writing all the stories). But after seeing how cunning she is, I'm more curious as to how she will die. She seems almost as intelligent as Holmes and Holmes doesn't seem like the kind of person to fall into traps easily. I feel like her nature creates a lot of enemies, and maybe one of them assassinated her. So, what do you think will happen to her?

  1. I agree she is very cunning, which leads me to believe that her days of blackmail are not through. Maybe she blackmail's another world figure, but it gets her killed. That would be an interesting story.

  2. Why do you think Irene was made into a character into the stories?

  3. I agree with your comment on the other post that she is like his love interest, if only he were passionate enough to feel love. She represents what Holmes would be like if he let emotions in more. She is also intelligent, but she lives a life outside of facts and logic (i.e. getting married). Irene and Holmes fit together, but at the same time, they are opposites, because they are working towards different goals (Holmes solves cases for others while Irene causes trouble). That's just how I thought of her. What do you think?

  5. I think hes less in love with her but more completely facinated with her. Like hed like to ask her out to pick her brain. In regards to Leah's question, it had a very open ending. I wonder if she'll be bk in another story.

  6. But what do you think she serves as for the whole series, Emmy? My question is more aimed at her purpose as a character, not what her character is. I usually try to figure out what certain characters do for a story. It's like taking a piece of art and having every color on it mean something different, and then throwing them together in different relationships to make a painting.
